Lance Stroll had an absolute nightmare at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

No seriously, the guy literally couldn’t put a foot right.

The Canadian Formula 1 driver finished 13th on the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Italy – but it wasn’t without a fair share of incidents.

Stroll’s day started badly after pitting after the first lap.

The 22-year-old, who drives for Racing Point, collided with Renault’s Esteban Ocon, which meant a safety car had to be used to stop the race.

The safety car meant Stroll could catch up with the rest of the F1 package when he finished pitting, but when he got back to his rivals, Stroll was somehow embroiled in a frightening incident that made spectators hold their breath.

At the start of the race, Williams’ George Russell crashed, meaning marshals had been deployed to clear up the remaining debris.

Except Stroll wasn’t told about it.

When Stroll overtook the safety car on his return to the race, he set his foot down to catch up with the rest of the pack, but narrowly missed the security marshals who were still on the track.

It was a moment of the heart in the mouth, but luckily no one was hit – even though they got painfully close.

“Tell them to watch out, the marshals are on the track,” said four-time F1 champion SebastianVettel.

“It’s very, very dangerous. Tell the marshals to leave the route. ”

The exciting moment crowned a pretty miserable day for Stroll and Racing Point.

Later in the race, Stroll met a member of his own team when he quickly pitted.

The slight contact sent his pit crew member in a heap in the air and onto the deck.

Fortunately, the team-mate was doing well, but Stroll clearly felt the heat on an otherwise miserable day at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
