The 31-year-old was the subject of a £ 5m bid from Al-Nassr looking to sign the attacking midfielder who won the World Cup.
Ozil has not played since March and has not yet been included in a matchday squad by boss Mikel Arteta this season.
The Gunners supporters are a fan base spread across the 92-strong international, and this latest news shows no sign of any such trend changing.

Despite the fact that he hasn’t played football since the beginning of the year, there is still enough evidence that Ozil has a job for someone.
The only stumbling block, however, is the astronomical £ 350,000 a week the Gunners are currently paying him as a salary.
This clearly deterred many European applicants, and the Saudi Arabs had hoped to take advantage of this.
It doesn’t look like Ozil will be moving anywhere until January, at least, and the club’s fans have responded to the possibility on Twitter.
