Arsenal have defeated Liverpool on penalties to win their 16th FA Community Shield title as both Mohamed Elneny and Mohamed Salah played the full 90 minutes.

The Gunners started the game on the front foot, dominating in possession while also posing a threat going forward.

As a result, Arsenal managed to open the scoring in the 12th minute through their Gabonese goal machine, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Mohamed Elneny was involved in the build-up as Arsenal started the move from the back with Bukayo Saka switching play to the left-hand side, finding Aubameyang, who took a touch and produced a sublime curler into the far corner.

Liverpool got back into the game in the 69th minute when Takumi Minamino pounced on a loose ball and scored to bring his side level.
