Joe Biden said he was “fine” after breaking his foot while playing with his German Shepherd Major and showing the black medical boot on his right foot.
The president-elect was first seen wearing the boot on Tuesday, when he arrived at the Queen Theater in Wilmington to introduce his economics team.
He thanked reporters for asking and stepped up to show his medical equipment. When a reporter asked him how he felt, he said “good”.
He arrived at his economic event by walking slowly but without noticeable limp. He stepped onto a podium to make his opening remarks but, unlike last week’s event where he introduced his national security team, there was a table and chairs for the president-elect to sit for during as his new economic team was talking.
But after standing to speak for about 15 minutes, Biden visibly limped as he went to sit down after presenting his choice of Treasury Secretary, former Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen.
Biden was injured on Saturday and visited a Delaware Orthopedic Specialists orthopedic surgeon in Newark, Delaware, for an exam on Sunday afternoon, his office said.

As Biden, who will likely wear a surgical boot for several weeks, prepared to leave the doctor’s office, he was photographed by NBC News getting into a vehicle.
President Donald Trump later retweeted the NBC video and surprisingly wrote to Biden, “Get well soon! ”
Initially, Dr Kevin O’Connor said Biden “had suffered a sprained right foot” and there were “no obvious fractures”.
But a subsequent CT scan “confirmed the (small) hairline fractures of President-elect Biden’s lateral and middle wedge bones, which are in the midfoot,” according to a statement from O’Connor.
“It is expected that he will probably need a walking boot for several weeks,” added O’Conner.
