Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - TEHRAN — At least five people were killed and 170 others injured in a US-Israeli strike targeting petrochemical facilities in southwestern Iran, according to state media.

IRNA cited a local official in Khuzestan province as saying the attack hit multiple companies in the Mahshahr Special Economic Zone for petrochemicals.

The official said the injured received medical treatment, with most discharged after outpatient care.

Earlier, the semi-official Fars news agency reported injuries from strikes targeting the Mahshahr and Bandar Imam petrochemical zones.

The attacks also hit the Fajr, Rejal, and Amir-Kabir petrochemical facilities in Khuzestan, according to a provincial deputy governor for security.

Parts of the Bandar Imam site were damaged, while no damage was reported at the Amir-Kabir facility.
