Josiane Comeau, new queen of “La Voix”

Josiane Comeau is the new queen of “La Voix”. At 19, the protected Pirate Heart took the honors at the end of the eighth season finale at TVA on Sunday, thanks to her emotional interpretation of “Lonely” by Noah Cyrus.

It was probably symbolic for Suzie Villeneuve, who had deserted “Star Académie” in 2003, to reinvent “The blues of the businessman”, according to the version of Nicole Croisille (with a text in “you”), taken from the film “Itinerary of” a spoiled child ”, by Claude Lelouch.

The young mother of Mika, 7 years old (she had at 18) and Avery, 4 years old, native of Fort-Coulonge, in the Outaouais, has faced several challenges since her blind audition, where she had interpreted ” Never Tear Us Apart ”, by INXS. She notably pulled out of the game with Battle Songs (with “The Joke”, by Brandi Carlile) and had to put herself in danger last week by singing in French (“Les un contre les autres”, taken from the rock opera “Starmania”), she whose mother tongue is English.

“I am really proud of Josiane, really happy, enthusiastic Michaela after the show, excited. Every minute, I remembered something. We changed, we took care of each other! ”

Small (discreet) train goes a long way, one could say about Flora Stein, 25, from Gatineau, who traveled with Pierre Lapointe during his experience at “La Voix”. She stood out on Sunday with “Our memories” by Mireille Mathieu.

The candidate has created few waves since her blind hearing (on “Masterpiece”, by Jazmine Sullivan). Born to a Quebec mother and a Mexican father, Flora won the grand prize on the show “Un air de famille”, in which she participated with her parents, in 2013.

Dreaming of Broadway, Flora – who works at the Botanical Garden as a horticulturalist – studied musical theater in Sainte-Thérèse. Pierre Lapointe referred to his professional background by praising him after his final lap.

“I can’t wait for theaters to reopen, for there to be auditions for musicals and for you to go (…) I can’t wait to hear you again. (…) I am very moved to see you this evening ”, he warmly congratulated her.

“I’m really happy that Josiane won,” said Flora in an interview. She was my favorite since the start of the season. I cried, I was so happy for her! We had so much fun, the four together, and with the production, I’m overwhelmed with happiness! ”

Loaded, this finale of “the longest season in the history of” The Voice “”, joked Charles Lafortune at the opening, allowed us to appreciate numbers featuring, among others, Half Moon Run, Paul Piché, 2Brothers, Tyler Shaw and Ariane Moffatt. Several participants from past editions of the competition, who now sit at the top of the charts – from Ludovick Bourgeois to Geneviève Jodoin, via the young rapper Sydney Lallier – were also part of the party, which took place, like it should be without an audience in the room.
