The new Parliament in Ajoie and the Franches-Montagnes

The Jurassic Parliament turns green. At 9 p.m., the results of the Franches-Montagnes and Porrentruy districts are final. The Greens already won two seats and the Liberal Greens made their entry by obtaining a seat in Ajoie. A reinforcement which is being done for the moment to the detriment of the PDC, the PCSI and the PLR. The final results for the district of Delémont are not yet known.

District of Porrentruy – 20 seats

The Greens and the Liberal Greens win a seat to the detriment of the PCSI and the PLR, status quo for the other parties. This is the result that came out of the polls in Ajoie. The Ajoulote deputation will thus have 7 elected PDC, 4 PLR, 3 PS, 2 UDC, 2 Greens, 1 PCSI and 1 PVL. Nine of the twenty elected are new.

Among the major elements, let us note the entry of the Liberal Greens with the election of Emilie Moreau, candidate for the Government. Another candidate for the Executive, Stéphane Babey, mayor of Alle is Ajoulot the best elected with 4,623 votes. The seat lost by the PCSI provokes the ouster of the president of the party Thomas Schaffter. Current substitute, the president of the socialist party Jämes Frein only finishes 7^e from his list. At the UDC, we point out the non-re-election of MP Claude Gerber, defeated by Yves Gigon and Romain Schaer.

Franches-Montagnes District – 10 seats

The green push was also felt on the heights of the canton. The Greens win a seat and will have two representatives stubbornly in the next legislature, who will also be brother and sister with outgoing Yvan Godat and party co-president Pauline Godat. The PDC pays the price and loses a seat, passing to two representatives, Bernard Varin and Amélie Brahier. The Taignonne deputation will have the following color: 2 Greens, 2 PS, 2 PDC, 2 PCSI, 1 PLR, 1 UDC.

It should also be noted that other outgoing members, Edgar Sauser (PLR), Nicolas Girard (PS), Brigitte Favre (UDC) and Vincent Hennin (PCSI) have been renewed. The mayor of Saignelégier Vincent Wermeille, best elected in the district, made his comeback to the legislature and took the seat of Monika Kornmayer, who was not reelected. Note also that in the PS, the outgoing deputy Jean-Daniel Ecoeur was ejected, the seat being conquered by his running mate Florence Chaignat. The CS-POP misses its bet to have an elected taignon since its Franc-Montagnarde list did not manage to win a seat.
