Rewards in Black Ops Cold War Casual playlists
One of the main reasons why players enjoy ranked games so much call of Duty is the reward you get for your efforts. You will be placed in lobbies with opponents with similar skills, and this will require you to “sweat” more than usual. All of this is worth doing, however, as you see your rank increase and you unlock various rewards based on that rank.
There really isn’t any such thing in casual playlists. Sure, you have some kind of level, but that really just means how much you play the game. Because of this, players feel confused when the skill-based matchmaking is implemented in casual modes. There is simply no reward for trying so hard against players of your skill.

This could of course be changed by a step taken by Treyarch. Like the old days of gloriole, Black Ops Cold War might have some sort of skill-level ranking progression system in occasional playlists. This would give players a reason to play against enemies at their level and want to compete against them.
Something https://twitter.com/NoahJ456/status/1317121463284092928 the community would love to see something like that added. It would offer a different reward system in Black Ops Cold War and give players a reason to play the game.
There’s no telling whether Treyarch would even consider adding something like that. The developers or Activision haven’t even publicly confirmed the existence of SBMM. Installing a ranking system in casuals would pretty much confirm this. It is therefore unclear if this is a measure they want to take. It would make the community pretty happy and excited to play public games, however.
