WHY BLUES ‘2021 CAMPAIGN FOR CRIPPS IS HUGE

Ex-Carlton list boss Stephen Silvagni believes captain Patrick Cripps’ future at the club would be “a little worrying” as he is unwilling to re-sign after 2021.

Cripps signed a three-year deal to fend off competing clubs in mid-2018, but the WA-American is still tied to a possible move home. Journalist Kim Hagdorn told 6PR this week that the 25-year-old wants to retire from Perth.

Keep talking SEN breakfastSilvagni said he, the blues, tried and failed to re-sign it in 2020.

“I have no doubt that the club would have tried to sign him again this season,” he said.

“I think there is always a bit of concern. But he’s the captain of the football club so I think that comes into play massively I think. ”

With recruits Adam Saad and Zac Williams to join the club in 2021, Silvagni said success on the field next year will play a crucial role in Cripps’ decision.

“I think a lot really depends on Carlton’s season next year – that would have a fair bearing on Patrick’s decision in my opinion … he’d love to play the final,” he said.

“I have no doubt that he would be very happy to have an Adam Saad and Zac Williams on board.”

MYSTERY OF THE OFFERING OF THE SAINTS FOR CROUCH

Adelaide has still not called to see if it fits St. Kilda’s offer for Brad Crouch as it has no final details on the offer and then knows what compensation it would receive for losing the free agent.

But if it’s less than pick 2, the crows will play hardball.

SAINTS TRIO PONDERING NEXT MOVES

Three contracted Saints “examine their positions,” reports Age.

Defenders Jimmy Webster (contract through 2022) and Dylan Roberton (2021) and midfielder Luke Dunstan (2021) are considering their options after playing two senior games in St. Kilda’s standout 2020 season.

List of Saints James Gallagher said this week the club had “no signs” from Webster or Dunstan, both injured this year, that they will not be with the Saints in 2021.

“They’re both under contract and they’re both good AFL players, these guys. It was exactly how the season worked. They were both injured at the wrong time, ”said Gallagher AFL Trade Radio.

“Jimmy, we’ve been trying to get into the team all year and Luke played a pretty strong game in Round 1 and then tore his chest about two weeks after the season started.”

While St. Kilda likes to keep Webster, she is Herald Sun. The defense attorney’s “sturdy contract” is one reason the club won’t get in his way when it finds a candidate.

AFL Media reported that Dunstan was “in the market” because he was one of several “upstream agents” who could find a home a year before gaining free agency status – a move Dunstan traded and St. Kilda through Trade would be compensated. rather than the unpredictable selection of free compensation agency.

KRÄHENQUARTETT IN LIMBO

Adelaide soccer boss Adam Kelly admits the future of four Crows players remains uncertain due to the AFL’s ambiguity over list and salary caps for 2021.

I am talking about SEN SAs Kymbo und The Rooch On Tuesday, Kelly said David Mackay, Myles Poholke, Ben Crocker and Jordan Gallucci were all in contract weakness and could not get any security for next season at this point.

“Some of those four will stay in the club, but not the entire four, I wouldn’t think at this point unless the list sizes stay the same,” Kelly told SEN SA.

“It’s unhappy for them and it must be frustrating as a player not to have that certainty, but until we understand how big the list is, we just can’t give that.”

After Bryce Gibbs retires, Mackay remains the most skilled crow on the list with 230 games.

Poholke and Gallucci were adopted by Adelaide in the 2016 draft, but only played 16 and 27 games respectively.

Former Magpie Crocker was inducted into last year’s rookie draft by the Crows and made seven appearances in his first season in Adelaide.
