FIFA denied reports that a date has been set for the next edition of the Club World Cup next January.

Yallakora contacted FIFA’s media department, which categorically denied reaching an agreement on the date of the tournament, pointing out that the date of the competition or any other decision regarding it is still under follow-up.

The media office said: “We do not currently have any assurances regarding the date of the Club World Cup, as Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation, said before.”

He added, “We are still in the stage of monitoring the situation and closely studying it in all respects with the officials before making the official decision.”

Infantino previously stated during the FIFA 70 Congress last September, stressing that all possibilities regarding the future of the FIFA Clubs World Cup are available, in terms of postponing or setting them up on time.

The FIFA president said: “We are still studying the situation. There are some continental federations that have not completed club championships in them. Therefore, the competition may be postponed to a later date in early 2021, and we hope that the tournament will be held.”
