He said both Washington and Tehran have expressed confidence in Pakistan’s role in facilitating the talks.

Dar briefed foreign ministers from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Pakistan during a quadrilateral meeting in Islamabad on the prospects of hosting the talks.

He said the participating ministers expressed full support for the initiative and agreed on the need to bring an early and lasting end to the conflict.

“They agreed that this war is not in favour of anyone and would only lead to further destruction,” Dar said, adding that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable solution.

The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to reducing escalation and creating conditions for structured negotiations, while emphasizing respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity in line with the UN Charter.

Dar said Pakistan remains actively engaged with Washington as part of de-escalation efforts, adding that China supports Islamabad’s initiative to host talks.
