Farag Amer, president of Smouha, confirmed that the Alexandrian club had submitted an official complaint to the Egyptian Football Association against Zamalek because of Imam Ashour, the white team’s player.
Smouha met with Zamalek yesterday, Monday, in the round of 16 matches of the Egypt Cup, and the Alexandrian team deposited the tournament after losing 2-1 at the Ismailia Stadium.
Smouha decided to submit an official complaint to the Football Association due to the participation of Imam Ashour, the Zamalek player, in the match, due to his suspension by Jabaliya, against the backdrop of the events of the Zamalek and Al-Masry match in the 31st round of the Egyptian We League championship, which the white team decided in favor of him with an unanswered goal.
Amer wrote through his official account on the social networking site “Facebook”: “Smouha submitted an official complaint to the Football Association objecting to the participation of Zamalek player Imam Ashour, who issued a decision to suspend a match and participated in the Smouha match and scored a goal.”
He added, “Smouha will not back down from the complaint, and it will escalate to the highest degree, to preserve our rights and without prejudice to anyone and without the slightest abuse.”
A source at the Football Association had confirmed in private statements, Leela Koura, on Monday, that the Discipline Committee intends to stop Ferjani Sassi (6 matches) and Imam Ashour (one match), confirming that his participation in the Smouha match is legal. (See more details)
