Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - RIYADH — The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) revealed that over 750,000 travelers passed through the various Kingdom airports following the resumption of domestic flights on national air carriers. The domestic flights restarted on Sunday May 31, 2020.

The recorded official statistics issued by GACA on Sunday revealed the number of travelers who passed through the Kingdom’s airports during the period from May 31 to June 30 exceeded seven hundred and fifty thousand (756,644) passengers, who departed on over nine thousand (9,558) flights from Kingdom's airports.

GACA has gradually resumed domestic flights with the aim of ensuring a safe travel journey for travelers through the Kingdom’s airports. All the necessary preventive and health measures have been taken, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and relevant government agencies within airport facilities.

GACA is working in coordination with airports and air carriers and companies operating in the civil aviation sector to meet the local market demand.

Meanwhile, GACA revealed the arrival at the Kingdom's airports of more than 55,000 men and women on board Saudi Arabian Airlines through the safe return plan for the repatriation of citizens in various stages, which began on April 5.

A number of government agencies, that included, (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Interior, and the General Authority for Civil Aviation) participated in the plan.

GACA had harnessed its capabilities and taken all procedures and measures at the Kingdom's international airports, where GACA and in cooperation with the relevant government agencies, had scheduled flights for citizens return plan and scheduled the flight times, in coordination with Saudi Arabian Airlines.

GACA has taken many preventive and health measures during this novel coronavirus pandemic and has applied the highest safety standards in the Kingdom’s aviation sector.
