Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - WASHINGTON — The United States military said at least three service members were killed during its ongoing operation against Iran, according to a statement from US Central Command (CENTCOM).
CENTCOM said five additional service members were “seriously wounded,” while several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions and are in the process of returning to duty.
“Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing,” the statement said.

The command added that the situation remains fluid and that, out of respect for the families, it would withhold further details — including the identities of those killed — until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.
CENTCOM also announced that US forces struck an Iranian warship in the Gulf of Oman.
The Jamaran-class corvette “is currently sinking to the bottom of the Gulf of Oman at a Chah Bahar pier,” the statement said, referring to a location in southern Iran.
