In his speech on the occasion of the opening of his country’s embassy in Abu Dhabi, Archbishop Barra said: The opening of the embassy of the Vatican State in Abu Dhabi is evidence of the depth of relations between the two friendly countries, explaining that the opening of the headquarters of the Vatican’s embassy in Abu Dhabi coincides with the third anniversary of the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity by His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church and His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders.

He added that the inauguration of the headquarters of the Vatican State’s embassy coincides with the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Vatican State and the UAE.

At the conclusion of his speech, the Archbishop thanked His Highness Sheikh Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, delegated a high-level delegation to inaugurate the headquarters The Papal Embassy “Vatican Embassy” in the capital Abu Dhabi, in appreciation of the role of the UAE in establishing the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence.
