Government data showed today, Wednesday, that the consumer price index in Saudi Arabia rose 1.1% last November, compared to what it was a year ago, and that the increase from the previous month amounted to 0.2%.
The General Authority for Statistics said that the annual increase is primarily due to the increase in transportation prices, which increased by 5.7% due to the increase in gasoline prices by 47.9% on an annual basis.
The kingdom said in its 2022 budget that the inflation rate is expected to rise this year to an average of 3.3%, due to the fading of the main impact of the value-added tax tripling in July last year.
It also expected inflation to rise to 1.3% on average next year.
