Already first snow at Antwerp fire brigade after technical final …...

All hands on deck in the fire station at Noorderlaan Wednesday afternoon. After a technical defect to a powder extinguisher vehicle, a large amount of extinguishing powder ended up on the fire trucks and the equipment. While many people are already setting up their Christmas tree, the first snow fell in Antwerp …

“During an instruction moment in our barracks on the Noorderlaan, there was a technical defect to a vehicle at 2.30 pm. How that could have happened is not yet clear. This will be further investigated ”, says spokesperson Marie De Clercq of the Fire Service Zone Antwerp. “Fortunately, the incident has little or no impact on our direct services.”

The barracks were initially ventilated with a large fan that is also used during fires. Because the fine extinguishing powder had crawled in all over the place, there was nothing else for the firefighters to clean up thoroughly for the rest of the day. How long it will take before everything is clean is not yet known.

Fortunately, the firefighters saw the joke themselves and initially shared the images of the winter wonderland with their colleagues in a private WhatsApp group, but of course it did not stop there. The images were eagerly picked up and went viral all over Flanders in no time.
