Another possible cause of cold feet, she said, is diabetes, in which some patients develop neuropathy – nerve damage. Also, with type 2 diabetes, it is possible to impair blood circulation. In this case, the vessels of the leg are particularly affected.

She noted that the next cause is Raynaud’s disease, in which vasoconstriction occurs during stress or cold. This can be seen by discoloration or paleness of the limbs.

Cold feet can also be a sign of peripheral neuropathy. This condition is often accompanied by tingling and burning in the extremities. Despres explained.

Another cause of cold feet is anemia, a condition in which the body produces insufficient red blood cells. Most often this phenomenon occurs due to iron deficiency, which can be indicated by a decrease in the level of hemoglobin in the body.

In addition, cold feet can be caused by anxiety and hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones to function properly, which can lead to poor circulation.
