A funeral mass for Tadg O’Sullivan and his son Diarmuid O’Sullivan will only be held privately at 2:30 p.m. for family members at St. Mary’s Church in Castlemanger.
They will then be buried in St. Brigid’s Cemetery in Castlemanger.
The funeral of Mark O’Sullivan, Tadg’s other son, will not be held privately for family members until tomorrow. The mass will be broadcast live at 3:30 p.m. from the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Kanturk.
Gardaí was made aware of a “critical firearms incident” at around 6:30 am on Monday after Tadg O’Sullivan’s wife Ann raised the alarm that firearms might have been fired in her home.
Gardaí was told there were three men in the house and one may have been gunshot wounds.
The response to critical firearms incidents was in progress and negotiators attempted to contact someone on the property that morning.
Officials from the Emergency Department, the Armed Support Unit, the National Negotiating Unit, the Technical Support Unit (Garda Headquarters), the Southern Region Canine Unit and the Air Support Unit were involved.
Shortly after 1 p.m., Gardaí approached the house where they found the body of Mark O’Sullivan in a bedroom.
The bodies of his brother Diarmuid O’Sullivan and his father Tadg O’Sullivan were found after a flight search on adjacent land.
All three were gunshot wounds.
Several firearms were found and confiscated at the scene. They are being examined by ballistic officers.
All autopsies were completed, but Gardaí said they would not disclose the details of the results.
Gardaí tries to determine the sequence of events that led to the three deaths.
One line of investigation is that the tragedy was caused by an inheritance dispute.
Gardaí is investigating whether a long note discovered on Diarmuid O’Sullivan’s body could provide any clues as to whether the murders were planned in advance.

Gardaí has indicated that they are not looking for anyone in connection with the incident.
