Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - KUWAIT CITY — Several US warplanes crashed in Kuwait on Monday morning, the country's defense ministry said as Iran continued to hit American targets across the region for a thrid day.
A defense ministry spokesman confirmed the crashes in a statement but said all crew members survived.
“The relevant authorities immediately launched search and rescue operations, evacuated the crews and transported them to a hospital to assess their condition and provide necessary medical care,” a ministry spokesman said in a statement.
He added that authorities directly coordinated with US forces regarding the circumstances of the incident and “took joint technical measures.”
The spokesman said investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the incident.
Earlier on Monday, Iran state media posted a video showing a US fighter jet crashing in Kuwait.

Meanwhile, black smoke was seen rising from the US embassy in Kuwait City on Monday after the latest volley of Iranian strikes, the AFP news agency reported.

The embassy did not announce it had been hit, but issued a security alert urging people to stay away.
