“Rio Dubai”, the joint venture between the company “Nakheel” and “Rio Hotels and Resorts” of Spain, opens its doors to visitors, in December, to add a new concept to the hospitality sector in Dubai, and the project records the number 100 in the chain of facilities of “Rio” around the world.
Work has ended on the first resort of “Rio” in the Middle East, and the first 4-star all-inclusive resort, overlooking the beachfront in Dubai, while construction and afforestation work in the “Splash” water park is in its final stages.
Thorsten Rees, Executive Director of Hospitality and Entertainment at Nakheel Properties, said: “Our first global joint venture adds a new dimension to the tourism sector in Dubai, as it provides a modern concept for hotel accommodation and attracts a new segment of the market to the emirate. We are proud of our partnership with “Rio” to create “Rio Dubai”, which is a shining example of our commitment to providing a variety of tourism-related projects, in line with the government’s goals.
This announcement coincides with the appointment of Nader Ghosh Saifi, general manager of this resort, which will be the first tourist attraction, to be opened on the beach of the Deira Islands. Nader has more than 27 years of experience in the hospitality sector with Rio, where he managed 10 resorts. Several five-star all-inclusive properties have opened, including the recent opening of “Rio Palace Tikida Agadir”.
Nader said: It is a great honor for me to join this wonderful resort, and to be part of the first project for “Rio” in the Middle East. What makes this project more distinguished is that it holds the number 100 for the “Rio” real estate chain in the world. We have already seen great interest from guests who want to see the dazzling tourism experience of Dubai, and we are pleased to open this new resort to coincide with the height of the holiday season, holidays and travel. The resort, which consists of 800 rooms, occupies a prime location on the waterfront. The “Deira Islands”, which is being developed by Nakheel, extends over an area of 15 square kilometers and 40 kilometers of beaches on the coastline of Dubai.
