However, in recent years Kevin the Carrot has become a household name, and Aldi has been crowned in most households for its charming ads.
With everything going on, getting in the Christmas spirit may never have been more difficult, but Kevin stopped by in 2020 for the festive cheer again, this time with a slew of iconic films out Top Gun to Pirates of the Caribbean!

- The character of Kevin the Carrot in the Aldi Christmas commercial is voiced by Clive Davis.
As highlighted by Campaign Live, the Kevin the Carrot spot was created by McCann UK and Dave Price, Executive Creative Director of McCann Manchester, brought up who the voice actor was in 2018:
“Clive Davis, who worked with Andy Fenton on every Kevin campaign, is actually the voice of Kevin in the ads. And from year one, the campaign was a snowball. Last year we gave him a girlfriend, Katie, and this year we gave him an enemy in the form of the evil parsnip. “
Since then, as you know, other characters have come over to make an impression.
McCann Manchester names Clive Davis and Andy Fenton as the creative team behind the project.
Aldi Christmas 2020 commercial
While you may not have heard of Clive Davis before, you are certainly familiar with some of the talent aboard the 2020 Kevin the Carrot Christmas commercial.
As the humble narrator and Santa Claus, we have the only Jim Broadbent!
The 71-year-old is known for his roles in Harry Potter (Professor Horace Slughorn), Hot Fuzz (Inspector Frank Butterman) and more.
The metro also points out that Colm Meaney (Star Trek, Gangs of London) also plays Santa Claus, with the source adding some insight from Colm himself:
“I thought it was time to play the big man myself and I was happy to be asked by Aldi to be part of his Christmas campaign. Kevin the Carrot and his family were incredibly warm on set and the whole experience was a total joy – even getting in and out of the big red suit. This year has been incredibly challenging for everyone, but I hope that during the festive season, people can enjoy this special time with family and friends – and maybe that one or the other ground beef cake or turkey sandwich. “
He also stated, “Oh, and unlike many men during the lockdown, I can confirm the beard is not mine.”
