2020 WWE Hell in a Cell predictions, map, games, start time,...

Hell in a cell will be lowered in the WWE ThunderDome on Sunday evening so that three games can be played within the demonic structure. The cell battles in Hell have delivered some of the most iconic moments in WWE history since their debut in 1997, and we could wait for more next Sunday night in Orlando.

The pay-per-view “Hell in a Cell” takes place this year at the Amway Center in Orlando. Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns and Bayley will all defend their championships in the cell. McIntyre will defend the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in her third pay-per-view fight since August. The world champion Reigns fights against his cousin Jey Uso in an I Quit Match, the first such match that was ever played in Hell in a Cell. And Bayley is set to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship after a brutal attack in September against former partner and best friend Sasha Banks.

Hell in a cell begins at 7:00 p.m. (CET). The show is expected to last three hours, excluding the kickoff show, which starts at 6:00 p.m. an hour before the main ticket. CBS Sports will be with you all the way on Sunday, live scores, highlights and analysis.

Let’s take a closer look at who of our CBS Sports experts will emerge victorious at WWE Hell in a Cell.

2020 WWE Hell in a Cell Vorhersagen

Jeff Hardy versus Elias

This could go both ways, of course, especially if Elias is just getting back on TV after a long-term chest injury. WWE put itself in a no-win scenario so quickly. Hardy just lost to Lars Sullivan on SmackDown and got out of his feud with Sheamus, who was apparently poised for a title run. Elias has never had any real dynamic in the ring, but if he came back to lose it would block anything that could have been won by his surprising return. In the end, it makes the most sense for Hardy to get out of here with a win, but Elias continues his attacks Monday night. Selection: Jeff Hardy wins – Adam Silverstein

I find it hard to imagine WWE bringing Elias back from an injury only to drop him the first match on his return. Hardy suffers little loss as he is established as a legend and his push can be increased up or down by the audience with little pushback. I can’t imagine it will be a clean win, but Elias should manage to get the win in this one. Selection: Elias wins – Brent Brookhouse

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs Sasha Banks (Hell in a Cell)

Out of all the ways I thought this story might unfold, Bayley and Banks, who stayed on the same brand after the WWE draft, were none of them. In that sense, a story that has been going on throughout the pandemic we are in doesn’t seem to have a legitimate end in sight if WWE is potentially looking to extend it into WrestleMania. Somehow, Hell in a Cell feels right and too early for this feud at the same time because they haven’t gone one-on-one in a perfectly normal match. So if you want to start here where are you going? Banks has never won a Hell in a Cell match and has lost her two previous matches to other Four Horsewomen. Maybe Banks, losing here, would give Bayley more verbal ammunition, but I can’t see her taking the plot forward. Selection: Sasha Banks wins the title – Silverstein

It was a long road for Bayley and Banks to finally break up and face up. It feels a little early for them to fight in Hell in a Cell as this is a feud ender, not a starter, but timing is timing and here we are. It feels like Bank’s win is just too early given the WWE’s usual feuding pace. She may not be a typical face, but in this feud, that’s the role Banks fills, and the face beats her top rival in the first for real Agreement of the program does not really fit. Selection: Bayley keeps the title – Brookhouse

WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs Randy Orton (Hell in a Cell)

This is one case where I’m sticking to a prediction even though recent storytelling has pointed me in a different direction. Given the way he’s been booked since early 2020, it would really be a waste if Orton’s story didn’t continue with the WWE title. They had booked a move perfectly with an ambulance match so McIntyre could lose without getting pinned, but they didn’t pull the trigger. Now they have another great opportunity for McIntyre to lose in the cell under unique circumstances. While my gut tells me that McIntyre will end up keeping because WWE didn’t make the change last month, I have to stick to my prediction that Orton will take over the title from McIntyre. And if I did book I would make sure this happens on Sunday. Selection: Randy Orton wins the title – Silverstein

I was tending to win an Orton title before the WWE Draft. But now there is a new group of tough challengers taking McIntyre towards WrestleMania. If we’re honest, Orton has cooled off a bit in the last few months, largely due to losing multiple times to McIntyre and once cleanly to Keith Lee. It’s not out of the question that Orton could win, but it feels like they should have done it in the ambulance match if they did. Selection: Drew McIntyre retains the title – Brookhouse

Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs Jey Uso (Hell in a cell where I finished the match)

Storytelling in Reigns and Uso demonstrated just how powerful good writing can be. There’s no doubt about who Reigns vs. Uso wins. They know that 100 out of 100 reigns don’t lose to Uso early in a title reign. Still, this was one of the most compelling nooks and crannies in years of WWE programming – the ultimate example of a journey across the goal in wrestling. Yes, Roman Reigns will beat Jey Uso if they meet in an I Quit Match in Hell in a Cell, but we’ll be happy when it happens. Selection: Roman Reigns keeps the title – Brookhouse
