EXCLUSIVE: Netflix keeps its promise to keep up with reality and competitive franchises after partnering with two UK-based All3Media-owned producers on new formats.

The deadline can show that the streaming giant is working together Secret boss and The circle Studio Lambert production outfit in an ambitious reality game show with the working title Jet Set.

The format will fly participants to a tropical location where they will communicate with each other and participate in a range of challenges and dilemmas to win a big cash prize. Studio Lambert is currently casting for the show on both sides of the Atlantic.

Jet Set is the second new series of competitions that Studio Lambert is working on for Netflix. The March deadline revealed that the company was doing a dance show with the title Everything OKaiming to expose a superstar choreographer. The project remains live after Coronavirus interrupted filming earlier this year.

We also hear that Studio Lambert is back in production in the US version of The circlewhich is made in the UK. Netflix handed the catfish reality show an extension for two seasons back in March.

Elsewhere, All3Media’s Lion Television is also producing a new dating format for Netflix called The date. Details about the project are sketchy, but the casting has been going on for a few months and the producers promise the participants a “unique” experience.

Lion got form of doing dating shows with a twist after creating the BBC3 / A&E format Sexy Bestienin which singletons have been transformed with Hollywood special effects makeup.

Netflix declined to comment on the new formats, but Unwritten Originals and Acquisitions directors Nat Grouille and Sean Hancock made their ambitions clear at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August.

Grouille said he wanted “huge resonance” shows with “something to say” that “felt urgent”. He added, “It’s like we’re in the golden age 15 years ago when people could come up with shows that were just great ideas and what-ifs. For example, what if people had to live on an island? This is Survivors. What if everyone lived in one house and you could watch? This is Big Brother. We’re looking for these big what-if questions in all areas. ”
