In the midst of a pandemic, a few employees of the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal were unable to go to work on Wednesday following a glitch that has no connection with COVID-19.
Earlier this week, the establishment offered the annual holiday meal to its workers and some were bothered by discomfort following a food “problem”.
“We were advised (Tuesday) that there may have been some issues with the annual holiday meal. We deeply regret this unfortunate situation, ”explained Carl Thériault, from the Communications & Media Relations Department, to TVA Nouvelles.
The meal in question was not prepared by the hospital, but by an external caterer. This investigates the causes of reactions to the food served.
“It has not been determined whether it is food poisoning,” added Mr. Thériault.
The number of employees who have not shown up for work has not been communicated at the time of this writing nor their area of function.
