Etihad Airways launches a multi-crew training license program

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Etihad Flight Training Academy of the Etihad Aviation Group, as the world’s first flight training institution to receive regulatory approval, announced that trainee pilots – after completing MPL training on a Phenom 100 aircraft – can transfer directly to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Which is considered the most efficient and rationalized aircraft on the market.

To achieve the highest standards of competence, the program enables academy trainees to become fully qualified pilots on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner within 18 months, by studying an intensive and highly advanced curriculum that takes advantage of pioneering learning techniques in the aviation sector.

Paolo La Cava, Vice President of the Etihad Flight Training Academy, said that due to the high market requirements, the Academy will train some junior pilots on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and with this new approval we can meet this requirement and give the pilot the opportunity to fly to destinations not served by narrow-body aircraft.

Paulo added that the academy succeeded in training more than 18 thousand students during the past year, at a time when most training institutions stopped their operations due to the exceptional circumstances that the world is going through, and today we have the ability to provide training on a variety of models, not only for pilots who work in companies Aviation, but also for independent pilots who do not currently work for any air operator in the United Arab Emirates, similar to the training operations in Europe.

International airline license holders or independent pilots not working for an airline at this time can receive model-specific training within the Etihad Flight Training Academy. This means that, for the first time ever, independent pilots can maintain their license status while obtaining training at the Etihad Flight Training Academy.

This includes the initial issuance of the flight license on all aircraft models currently approved by the Academy, as well as the certification and renewal of the training license on the model from the General Authority of Civil Aviation. It should be noted that the Etihad Flight Training Academy represents the first aviation training institution in the United Arab Emirates to obtain approval from the General Civil Aviation Authority to provide this service.

The training team of the Etihad Flight Training Academy has developed a course to become the first aviation training institution affiliated with the GCAA to provide the A350 Standard Training conversion // STC and the Cross Crew Qualification // CCQ program, which ensures that the Academy remains one of the most prominent training institutions. Aviation in the world, meeting the ever-changing demands of the market and moving to the next generation of aircraft.

The Etihad Flight Training Academy is the first training institution to launch a reward initiative, as it collaborated with the Etihad Guest program to award Etihad Guest miles to its clients when purchasing training products and services for every dollar spent. Miles earned can be redeemed for purchases of Etihad Airways tickets, holiday packages and thousands of other purchases at the rewards store, Al Dar malls, Yas Island and the Majid Al Futtaim SHARE program.
