Emirates Loto said it has suspended its weekly draws until later this year to complete a system upgrade.

The raffle, which boasts a jackpot of Dh50 million, was postponed just hours before the live draw on Saturday evening.

Organisers plan to improve the customer experience and “upgrades are scheduled to be completed later this year”.

Live draws are also expected to return at that time.

Emirates Loto said customers who had purchased entries for the July 18 raffle would be refunded.

“All those that have purchased entries into this week’s draw will immediately have their fees refunded,” it said.

“Emirates Loto will continue to engage and support the community through philanthropic and CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiatives during this time.”

Customers were told to call 800 5825 or send an email to [email protected] to activate their refund requests.

The loto was originally introduced to UAE audiences in April with a jackpot of Dh35 million and was later increased to Dh50m.

At the time of the postponement, no one had scooped the top prize.
