Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, arrived in Abu Dhabi on Thursday on a state visit.

Mr Abiy was received at the Presidential Flight airport by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Sheikh Theyab bin , Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court.

Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Mr Abiy and discussed ties and cooperation between the two countries and ways to tackle a number of issues of mutual interest.

Mr Abiy is accompanied by Ethiopian First Lady, Zinash Tayachew, Dr Hirut Kassaw, minister of culture and tourism, Adanech Abebe, minister of revenues and Muferiat Kamil, Ethiopian minister of peace.

Ambassador of Ethiopia to the UAE, Suleiman Dedefo and Shehab Ahmed Al Fahim, assistant under-secretary for protocol affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation were also present.
