Aden - Yasmine El Tohamy - 100 Global Child Prodigy Award is a platform to celebrate kids talent and power in different categories.
Known as Dubai Indian High School's nightingale, Sucheta Satish has made her school, community and the UAE proud once again. The child prodigy who can sing in 120 languages has won the 'Global Child Prodigy Awards 2020' in the category of singing, Dr TC Satish, father of the 13-year-old, told Al Khaleej Today.
The 100 Global Child Prodigy Award is a platform to celebrate kids talent and power in different categories such as dancing, music, arts, writing, acting, modelling, science, innovation, sports etc. The awards are supported by the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation and Oscar award winning music producer AR Rahman to name a few.
Furthermore, fresh out of the release of her second album 'Ya Habibi' and having Malayalam superstar Mammooty release it along with actor Unni Mukundan, Sucheta has a lot going on for her.
She said: "I met them when they were in Dubai to promote the movie Mamangam. Both of them wished me well, and I was on cloud nine."
Speaking about her upcoming award ceremony, Sucheta said: "I was selected for the award for my twin world records for singing in most languages during one concert and the longest live singing concert by a child which I had set as a 12-year-old two years ago in Dubai at the Indian Consulate Auditorium when I sang in 102 languages over 6.15 hours."
Sucheta can presently sing in 120 languages. "The award ceremony is in New Delhi on Friday, when 100 Global Child prodigies across the world will be honoured in different categories. I am particularly excited to meet the Nobel Peace prize winner Kailash Sathyarthi who is the chief guest for the programme."
Dream is to perform at Expo2020 Al Wasl Plaza
However, she said her biggest dream is to perform at the Expo 2020 Al Wasl Plaza. "My dream is to sing my song 'Fifty Glorious Years', a tribute to the architect of Expo 2020, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, live with the composer Monty Sharma and his orchestra in presence of the lyricist and poet Dr Shihab Ghanem at the iconic Al Wasl Plaza venue at the Dubai Expo 2020 site."
Managing singing and academics
"I make it a point to practise every day and by God's grace, I have been able to manage that without affecting my studies," Sucheta said. "I have to admit that the CBSE curriculum is tough. I have felt it would be nice if at least the homework given to students is significantly reduced so that students can concentrate on extracurricular activities like arts and sports even better," she added.
