Two UAE expats saved the lives of two cleaners after strong winds knocked them off from their platform - while they were cleaning windows outside a tower on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Ajman Civil Defence, the Moroccan and Greek women rescued two cleaners, who were cleaning the glass facade of their residential tower on Ajman corniche, after the workers were struck by strong winds causing the dangling platform to swing violently.

The women quickly reached out from the window and stabilised the platform by holding each rope with their hands.

Lt.colonel Raed Obaid Al Zaabi, Deputy Director of the Centers of Ajman Civil Defence said that the incident report was received by the operations room at 9am regarding two workers stuck on a scaffolding after it stopped working due to the strong winds.

The women held on to the ropes - injuring themselves - until the civil defence team arrived. They were immediately treated for their wounds.
