Cyberpunk 2077: The developers are working on this until the end
PCGH was able to audition a lot in Cyberpunk 2077. It is still a bit early for “real” benchmarks of graphics cards and processors. As of the deadline today, neither the final drivers for Geforce and Radeon graphics cards are available, nor the really final game client. Between “our” version and the release version there are also improvements in the technical area that we want to take with us in order to get a realistic impression of the achievable performance. In the so-called Day 1 patch, which all players have to download with preload (the exact time is still unknown, the game is known to be played on Thursday morning at 1 a.m.), there are some changes that are of interest.
There are indications of better performance with certain ray tracing effects and AMD’s RDNA-2 series with Radeon RX 6800 and 6900 is also mentioned. As a reminder: for the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now 58.19 €) there will be no ray tracing effects on Radeons – although Direct X 12 ray tracing is used as an (open) basis. However, the integration should be submitted later. The Day 1 patch also fixes some optical bugs on RX-6000 graphics cards. In scenes with mirrors, better performance can be expected on RTX-30 cards thanks to DLSS. Pixelated ray tracing reflections on wet surfaces are also eliminated. And finally, there are not only general tweaks for Windows 7, the photo mode on RTX graphics cards has also been revised and looks better.
For tomorrow’s launch of the Radeon RX 6900 XT, we also expect the final driver for all Radeons for optimal enjoyment of Cyberpunk 2077. When Nvidia will publish its game-ready driver for the CDPR-Action-RPG has not yet been clarified. The new Geforce driver should be ready by the launch day at the latest.
