Samsung has provided a preliminary official roadmap for the release of Android 11 for its smartphones. The company will start supplying the Galaxy S20 series smartphones in December 2020. Further models will follow in early 2021.
The schedule published by Samsung according to TizenHelp stipulates that the Samsung Galaxy S20 series will be upgraded to Android 11 from December. This applies to all models presented in the spring. However, the roadmap shown here comes from Samsung’s Egyptian branch, so that individual models are missing from the list, including the popular Samsung Galaxy S20 FE.
In addition, the schedule may of course differ in other countries. After the delivery of Android 11 for the S20 models in December, a whole series of other high-end devices followed in January, most of which are in the high-end range, including the Galaxy S10 series, the Note 10 series and the Note 20 range and the models with a foldable display.
From March 2021, mid-range smartphones and a few first tablets will follow. The inexpensive low-end models from previous years will only be supplied with Android 11 in summer. The extent to which an upgrade to the new One UI 3.x from Samsung takes place in the course of the update may depend, among other things, on the type of smartphone in question.
