Microsoft announced earlier that there will be no Windows 10 update in December, so the last one before 2021 appeared on the night of November 30. You can install it now – and what does it change?
Windows 10 update is not newbut brings a cumulative fix pack for the system. It is designed for the two latest editions of the “ten”, that is 20H2 (for which it has the number KB4586853) and 2004. And what exactly improves? Here are some selected items:
- Fixes the error related to Narrator not responding on a device that has been locked with active, and then unlocked
- Fixes an error that prevents finding Xbox consoles
- Fixes an error causing the Xbox Game Bar to find no monitors – especially games using DirectX 9.0 and VRR monitors
- USB 3.0 hub support has been improved
- improved support for the touch keyboard in the Mail application
- A bug preventing PDF24 from opening .txt files has been resolved
- fixed a bug causing a dark screen to appear when trying to start Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD)
- Improved memory handling by some COM APIs to prevent memory leaks
- Fixed a bug that prevented logging into some servers
- Improved support for selecting wallpaper based on location
- Kaomoji rendering has been improved
- fixed bug in Visual Basic 6.0 (VB6) that caused duplicate messages
- Windows Defender localization mechanisms have been improved
The full list of changes includes several dozen items. You can download the update as usual – using Windows Update or from the Microsoft Update Catalog page. Is it worth it? As the update is intended to improve system performance, it is rather recommended.
