Fault at Amazon Prime Video: Streaming problems – so watch anyway

Since 8:45 p.m. on Friday evening, users have been complaining on the website Allestören.de that the streaming service Amazon Prime Video is no longer working. And not on any device. Neither on the TV, nor on the mobile phone, tablet, game console or Apple TV. The users apparently all get the same error code 6085. That seems to be a rather unknown error code, because there is no information about it on the Internet. One user wrote the following: “The Amazon Prime Video error code 6085 prevents users from streaming live videos to their TV or video game consoles. It can also affect those who own Android TVs.”

“To fix Amazon error code 6085, users have to open a browser and continue the stream there,” he continues. This can be done on the laptop, tablet and of course on the mobile phone. Even the game console has a browser that can be used to start the stream.

Amazon has confirmed the disruption at least when broadcasting a soccer game on its official Twitter channel “Amazon Prime Video Sport”:

Amazon is currently investigating the problem and advising that you should try another device for streaming.

The disturbance from Amazon Prime Video seems to be nationwide, as the map from Allestören.de shows. Most of the reports come from major cities such as Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Berlin. There are also a particularly large number of fault reports from Great Britain and Austria. And even in the USA, Amazon Prime Video does not seem to be working at the moment, according to Allestören.de.
