Sound beaming is not a new concept, but it is an appealing concept for people who do not want to wear headphones to hear audio from highly targeted speakers. It has been implemented in extremely limited commercial and industrial scenarios but has not yet had any significant impact on consumers. However, Israeli tech company Noveto is ready to go on a demonstration tour before launching its SoundBeamer 1.0 next year.

The prototype shown to be pushing is about the size and width of a Nest Hub Max. It includes sensors to track a listener’s ears and dual transducer arrays that send ultrasonic audio directly outside of the channels before they become audible. With the way the sound is directed, no one else, even nearby, should be able to hear it. There have been other devices that have done the knife rounds before this one, but stereo sound is a new front in this area.

Noveto expects to be able to reduce the footprint with partners Foxconn and China Euro Vehicle Technology AB before SoundBeamer hits the market in December 2021. No price range was given. The company also hopes to sell integrations in home theater, home fitness, automotive, video conferencing, and other products.
