How to find the missing page for Eggabell

Bugsnax is a free PS5 game for PlayStation Plus members around the system’s launch, and it follows a vaguely monstrous journalist as he explores Snaktooth Island. Along the way, he must rebuild Snaxberg and capture the local Bugsnax, who are strange part-bug, part-food creatures. It’s a fairly open-ended game that would rather give players subtle hints than tell them directly what to do.

While this works in the game’s favor for most of the adventure, a late-game quest can hold you up if asked if you want to find the missing page in order for a character named Eggabell Butternugget to return to Snaxberg. While this seems straightforward, this page can be especially difficult to find if you don’t remember where it is. This is what you have to do to find it and complete it Bugsnax.

Crack the code!

Once you have most of the adventure behind you, you must recruit Eggabell by completing all of the objectives of the Eggabell Keeping Her Cool mission series. After Eggbell activates three statues and tries to open a mysterious door, he asks the player to use the entire part of explorer Lizbert Megafig’s diary as part of the “Crack the Code!” Mission.

The Crack the Code mission has four objectives: find Lizbert’s journal, find the missing page, find Liz’s device notes, and find notes on the mountain map. Complete every main quest in Bugsnax should give you a chance to find these items, and the diary, device notes, and mountain map are easy to find in Lizbert and Eggablel’s house.

As for the missing page, if you don’t make the effort to find it, you’re likely to miss this required notice. If you don’t have this item, you’ll need to find it before you can continue in the game.

Cromdo collects

To get the missing page, you need to find Cromdo, a red grumpus who is also a dingy salesman. When he completes all five of his missions, he gives the player a map that shows where all of the Grumpuses arrived on Snaktooth Island. He tells the player that he thinks Lizbert left them all and says they should check it out.

However, the game does not urge you to explore this area beyond that. The thing is, his map is the key to finding the missing page. If you look at his clue, it shows a map of the Boiling Bay with a big red X on the edge of a peninsula. You have to go here.

Get the missing page

You can find the missing page in Boiling Bay, the area where you recruit the mad scientist Floofty Fizzlebean. To get into this area, head south from Snaxberg to Simmering Springs. From there you can drive to Boiling Bay through a shipwreck.

Once you get to the boiling bay, go as far to the left as you can. As you can see in the picture above, you can find a backpack at the end of a patch of lawn and near an oar and a living keeper. A bottle with a note is attached to it. Once you pick it up, you will see that it is the missing page.

After collecting it, you should have achieved this goal. So go back to Eggabell and talk to her. You should be able to make progress. You’re almost done with the game too, as this will be the last major roadblock to check your progress.
