YouTube Music is preparing a playlist for Year in Review
YouTube Music, along with its competitors, appears to offer a playlist called “Year in Review” to “relive the top songs you’ve heard”.

These recaps are a popular part of Spotify and Apple Music. The streaming service from Google lacked a similar offer in the first two years after its relaunch. Subscribers screamed jealously 12 months ago.

That will change in 2020 when a user is already receiving the playlist. As soon as it is live, it will be displayed at the top of the home feed as “My year in review 2020”. Strong cover art is provided, with YouTube Music determining which artists are included.

In addition to the personalized offer, Google also offers a general Top Songs of 2020 collection in addition to Top Pop and Latin. Since these are universal, the links to these three “top” playlists should work for everyone. There doesn’t seem to be a way to share the custom one.

It’s not clear if YouTube Music offers other infographics or data about your top songs. Other services create beautiful graphics that are ideal for sharing. In the meantime, YouTube Music seems to only focus on individual tracks and not provide any additional breakdowns for artists or albums.

In terms of launch, Google is slow to release new features, including playlists. It will most likely be available sometime this month or early December.
