HOW TO PLACE THE PS5 IN A HORIZONTAL POSITION
Setting up the PS5 stand in a horizontal position is much easier than in a vertical position. You just want to align the two prongs in the stand with the PlayStation icons on the back of the console. You should feel it grip perfectly when it’s in the right place.
Note that it still slips around a bit in this position. It doesn’t snap in so far that the console doesn’t slip when you move it.
TO TURN ON THE PS5 IN THE VERTICAL POSITION
This is where things get a little tricky and I had to go back and watch the teardown video to get it to work. It’s listed in the quick start guide, but it’s still a bit too confusing for my taste.
First of all, you will need a flat-bladed screwdriver. At the bottom of the console you will see a small black button that you can remove with either your finger or a screwdriver. You’ll want to put this in the hole in the middle of the stand (it’s magnetic, so it should go right in).
Grab your stand, and then you’ll want to grab where the hooks are and twist it until the small hidden hole becomes visible and you get a screw.
You will then want to hook the stand to the back of your PS5. You want to screw it in with your flathead screwdriver (a coin will work too) until it is snug, but not too tight.
That’s it. Now go and enjoy your PS5.
