Aden - Yasmine El Tohamy - It's been a tough year, with tech companies not having a chance to showcase their latest wares. But now, it’s time for them to get back to business in Dubai.

Tech companies, as well as gadgets geeks, will be pleased to know that they will be experiencing five major tech shows that's taking place together in December starting with GITEX 2020 from December 6-10, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

The other shows to look forward to are GITEX Future Stars, GISEC cybersecurity, Future Blockchain Summit and Marketing Mania. All shows will be conducted with precautionary measures in place. DWTC strictly adheres to all rules and regulations laid out by the authorities.

A variety of innovative technologies, gadgets and devices will be showcased at this year’s edition of GITEX where more than 60 countries are expected to take part in the popular event. Here’s a look at five exciting events to look out for:

GITEX 2020

This has been one of the top tech shows in the region for four decades. Claimed to be the only global tech show in 2020 'live, in - person', the event is a combination of an exhibition, a conference and business hub. It will be held in a face-to-face setting which means visitors can view new gadgets and innovation in technologies like 5G, AI, Mobility etc. The show will be a forum for meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions that are all designed to give the industry the best possible insight into tomorrow's technology. From Dec. 6 - 10 Dec 2020, Pavilion, Sheikh Maktoum Hall, Sheikh Rashid Hall, Sheikh Saeed Hall, Trade Centre Arena and Za'abeel Hall at the DWTC.

GITEX Future Stars

GITEX Future Stars is a festival of creativity, technology and business networking, that brings together some top global start-ups. Participants can Face Time with visitors and buyers while getting an opportunity to pitch to more than 400 top-ranked investors from Silicon Valley to Europe and Asia, not to mention the chance to compete in the Supernova Challenge, for a share of a $200,000 prize pool. Hear inspiring stories from entrepreneurs who beat the odds to succeed, and nine sector-focused talks on current and future trends as 250 leading tech minds will feature in a conference with keynote speeches and panel sessions. The Future Blockchain Summit

Expect to listen to 120 international speakers, 40 per cent of whom will speak in the region for the first time at this event. The Future Blockchain Summit is targeted at governments, enterprises, start-ups, educational institutions and individuals. A key focus at this year’s edition will be skills acquisition showcasing Blockchain’s potential into practical deployment and closing the skills gap among individuals, organisations and nations. The Summit will also feature keynote speakers, a series of sector-focused tracks, interactive sessions, a ‘startup suite’, and the Business Hub: a one-stop-shop helping Blockchain-related companies to set up in this region, with direct access to representatives of free zones, legal firms, banks, business advisors and incubators. Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference

Cybersecurity matters, not only to protect businesses from fraud or attacks but also to help it grow. The Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC) addresses this pressing issue by providing a forum for businesses to access innovative, game-changing security products and solutions – solutions that leverage technologies such as AI, Blockchain, 5G, IoT and enterprise cybersecurity, and that come from more than 170 local, regional and international exhibitors.

Making their debut this year are the ‘brain pods’: private consulting rooms where visitors can secure private one-on-one consultations with expert cyber professionals. There is also the first-ever KSA stage, dedicated to cybersecurity issues and opportunities in Saudi Arabia. The ‘recruitment barracks’ feature acts as a career advancement hub, where expert recruiters will post specialist jobs and take CVs from candidates. The event offers addresses from rockstar speakers, including Magnus Djaba, global president and CEO, Saatchi & Saatchi, Prof. Christopher Abraham CEO, SP Jain Global School of Management, Sunny Landeros, Official Member - Forbes Communication Council, amongst other industry experts.
