PS5 pre-orders have proven to be something of a roller coaster ride, making the PlayStation 5 one of the hardest consoles to reach despite multiple waves of pre-orders.

Finding new stocks in the UK (and US) has become almost impossible, but some consoles are popping up (especially on Very). As we get closer to the start there are some places we need to look further.

We now know that the two consoles available will be the main PlayStation 5 (£ 449.99) and a digital PS5 edition (£ 349.99). We have all the details, PS5 games, confirmed PS5 price and PS5 specs – the biggest question is still – how do we get our hands on one?

Currys and John Lewis confirmed new shares 19. November – This is the start date.

The week before launch may be your last chance to pre-order. So keep your fingers crossed and we’ll keep an eye on all retailers for you. StockInformer previously said that “the third wave of PS5 pre-orders is imminent, which is reported to have a greater volume of units available.”

There’s also now the extra fold of England going into a second national lockdown on November 5th – which means we’ll be home when the console comes out. While this sounds like a good time to play the PS5 when we can’t go out – it may not be that easy.

Since inventory is also shaky, we recommend getting ready by midnight.

At least it looks like the next generation machine will be worth the stress it went through to get one. We can’t guarantee you will receive a console, but check the links below for the latest inventory.

When can I pre-order the PlayStation 5?

We have good news, although Currys and John Lewis confirmed that new stocks are coming on November 19th. This means that while you can’t guarantee that you will have one on release day, you do have a chance. We’ll keep this page updated as we hear more and when a surprising third wave of pre-orders becomes available.

Pre-orders went online in a first wave (September 17th), However, there have been some issues with websites offering a PS5 page for sale but not a product as it was being accessed so quickly. Another round of pre-orders went online on September 25th. For the most part, pre-orders are only possible for the standard PS5 and not for the cheaper digital edition.

GameStop recently announced more shares, but there weren’t any Amazon Prime Day deals on the PS5, which is to be expected for such a new console. The DualSense controller is back in stock at Very, AO.com and GAME.

While the consoles sold out before many of us even knew they were listed, we were told that more were on the way. Retailers were expected to have more inventory as we near the November 19th PS5 release date – that doesn’t seem to be the case now. If more appear before the launch day, expect new stocks to be gone in a flash. While they may have more, it is extremely unlikely that they will have enough stocks to meet demand.

Can I pick up my PS5 pre-order in Lockdown?

Understandably, the news that England is facing a second national suspension has made those looking to play the next generation consoles a little nervous. The lockdown will currently last until December 3rd – long after the PS5 and Xbox Series X were released. While online orders should hopefully come without any issues, what does it mean for those of us who have ordered a store from a store, that is closed because it is not strictly necessary?

Well, there is a glimmer of hope that came from the announcements that can be found in the term “click and collect”. While stores like GAME and Smyths cannot be physically opened, clicking and collecting is allowed, and it is likely that these stores and others in the same boat will be looking at how to implement this now.

Smyths has done this before so it stands to reason that they will be doing the same again while hopefully it’s just a matter of figuring out the logistics before GAME follows suit.

GAME has already made some announcements on Twitter

And this one, which currently only mentions the Xbox Series X but, oddly enough, a previously deleted tweet, previously mentioned the PS5 next to it. It’s unclear why this has since changed to just mention the Microsoft console.

Bookmark this page and we will keep you updated on the lockdown situation as soon as we hear more. This should be around the corner every day with the release dates.

When will the PS5 be back in stock in the UK?

They know a pre-order clearance didn’t go according to plan when the company behind it comes out and admits it. The

recently said: “Let’s face it, PS5 pre-orders could have gone a lot smoother. We really apologize for that. ”

We admire their honesty! Well, with difficulty. GAME, Smyths, Very, Amazon, and the regular retailers went online with inventory overnight, but it was snapped up quickly. Argos went live soon after, but it was also sold out. John Lewis went live next – and sold out within minutes too.

The good news is that they have promised that more pre-orders will go online soon. While we don’t know the exact date or which retailers this applies to, it is a promising sign that all hope is not lost – even if it does, it now looks less likely. GameStop has inventory on October 13th, which shows that more inventory is available. So keep an eye on our links just in case …

Even now there are some who have been able to snap up one that may not even be able to get the console on launch day as they were hoping. Customers who purchased through ShopTo have been warned that they will have to manually pay their remaining balance prior to release, or risk their assigned PS5 going to someone else, saying:

“If you do not pay by October 31st, your confirmed pre-order for the first day will be canceled. Your console is automatically reassigned to the next customer in the queue and we cannot reassign the console to you. Please do not prepay your pre-order if it has not been confirmed for the first day. ”

Be warned: When inventory shows up there may be a wait even if you are lucky enough to find a dealer with inventory. Both GAME and Curry’s PC World used queuing systems, which was not without its problems. The wait for both retailers was over an hour before fans could finally check out.
