Psychological horror game The Medium BANNED in Australia – but will...

A HORROR game slated to launch on the new Xbox Series X console next month is about to be banned in Australia.

The medium, which follows the terrible story of a woman who can travel to the spiritual realm, has been denied classification in the country.

That means the publication of the medium in Australia will be blocked until everything that led to the rejection is fixed, reports Kotaku.

The Xbox exclusivity was developed by Polish team Bloober Team and is still well on its way to hit shelves in the UK and US on December 10th.

That could mean a big blow to Microsoft, who sees The Medium as a major selling point for the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.

The game is only available on the two computers and will not start on the current generation Xbox One.

A listing by The Medium on the Australian Classification Board’s website was revealed by Kotaku on Tuesday.

The list submitted in July does not include the name of the title, but instead states the developer as the Bloober team, but confirms that it is The Medium.

The Krakow-based group has no more games in the pipeline for its upcoming release.

The listing does not indicate why the game was denied a rating.

It is possible that parts of the game are just too disruptive or bloody to be approved in Land Down Under.

However, Kotaku suggested that a technical issue created during the online application process may be behind the gaff.

A member of the Bloober team told the release that the developers were working to reapply for the board before the end of the week.

The medium is one of Microsoft’s great exclusives to deliver as many new consoles as possible when they hit the market next week.

The game follows the story of Marianne, a medium that can live in both the real and the spiritual world.

In addition to the X / S series, the game will also be released on a Windows PC. It won’t be released on PlayStation 5.

The release date includes the UK, US, Australia and a number of other countries around the world.

The Disc-Free Series S is £ 249 / $ 299 while the Xbox Series X is £ 449 / $ 499.

How does that compare to the new Xbox’s biggest rival, the PlayStation 5?
