An emotional Kyle Sandilands apologized tearfully to Ali Oetjen for repeatedly mentioning her “staircase incident” in the air.
On Wednesday’s episode of The Kyle and Jackie O Show, the 49-year-old apologized directly to Ali when she interviewed the former Bachelorette about her role at SAS Australia.
The shocker said he felt “remorseful” for reinforcing violent rumors that Ali’s ex-boyfriend Grant Kemp caught her having sex on a staircase with one of his friends.

Kyle admitted that he had just come to Jesus when he saw Ali suffer through intense interrogation in the SAS Australia episode on Monday.
“I saw it alone in the chair at home and was torn when you started crying because I thought,” Jesus, I’m part of this culture that talked about you, put things in the spotlight that you might didn’t want to talk about it. “
“And for the first time I felt very remorseful about my part in it, so I just wanted you to know,” he continued.
“You suffered, you got the fear and all that stuff, and I felt like a piece of shit.”

Ali was speechless at Kyle’s sudden repentance, but she finally said “thank you” after taking a deep breath.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were going through such a difficult time,” Kyle said through tears.
“It was fun back then … you sometimes forget that people on TV are real people.”
“Jesus, I’m part of this culture that talked about you and put things into the spotlight that you might not want to talk about,” admitted Kyle tearfully
Kyle has mentioned Ali’s staircase scandal many times over the years, most recently during an interview with Firass Dirani last week.
“We haven’t seen Ali being interrogated yet, but do you think they’ll bring it up if she does? [engaged in a sex act] on the stairs?’ asked Kyle.
Kyle’s co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson seemed upset with him for being so vulgar.
Underbelly star Firass stumbled upon the question and laughed awkwardly.
‘Um … what time is it? Is it too early for that? Are the children already on their way to school? ‘He asked, trying to distract the question.

Ali’s “staircase incident” refers to the fact that her ex-boyfriend Grant Kemp, whom she met at Bachelor in Paradise in 2018, publicly accused her of cheating on him.
Grant claimed he entered Ali when he was having sex on the stairs with one of his friends while she was living in his Los Angeles home.
She never denied that the incident took place, and Grant has presented evidence in the form of text messages that she allegedly sent the morning after the alleged tryst, which he claims is “legal evidence” that he is the truth says.
In November 2018, ahead of the Bachelorette Finals, Kyle Sandilands asked Ali directly about the matter when she was a guest on his KIIS FM radio show.
She laughed awkwardly and said Kyle went too far but didn’t deny the claims.
