CD Projekt RED apologizes for “degrading” crunch comments

CD Projekt RED President and Co-CEO Adam Kiciński apologized to his team for his recent comments Cyberpunk 2077‘s Crunch Controversy.

Yesterday, during a call for investors, Kiciński said that the crisis was for Cyberpunk 2077 was “not that bad” adding that the majority of employees were no longer in crisis. “I didn’t mean to comment on Crunch, but I did it anyway, and I did it in a degrading and harmful way. To be honest, it’s only now, when the stress associated with the decision to be late and the call itself subsides, that I fully realize the true extent of my words, ”wrote Kiciński.

“I have nothing to say in my defense,” continued Kiciński. “What I said wasn’t even unhappy, it was absolutely bad. Please accept my most sincere and sincere apologies for this. I was and always am proud of the heart and soul that you put into what you do every day. ”

During the same call, Kiciński had confirmed that the PC and next-gen versions of the game were up and running and that the team was working out some issues for the current generation console. He added that the recent delay – from November 19th to December 10th – should ease some of the pressure on the development team and that “they are looking forward to the additional three weeks”.

Cyberpunk 2077 The release is currently scheduled for December 10th on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Google Stadia.

The game will also get full, next-generation versions with improved graphics and other next-generation technologies in the near future, although a launch date has not yet been announced. The game will meanwhile be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S through backward compatibility.
