Earlier in the week, CD Project postponed, for the third time, the release of Cyberpunk 2077. Yet the title is gold, but the Polish studio reports difficulties preparing the game for launch on nine different platforms, and has therefore decided to postpone the release by 21 days.

Obviously, the fans are not very happy with this postponement, CD Project calmed the enthusiasm on social networks, but shareholders also had to be reassured. The CEO Adam Kicinski, le CFO Piotr Nielubowicz and the senior vice president of business development Michal Nowakowski held a teleconference to take stock, revealing some details shared by Business.

According to them, Cyberpunk 2077 could be released on November 19, as planned before this new postponement, but these additional three weeks of development will help the studio correct a lot of things between now and launch., which they should have done after anyway. Where the statement gets interesting is that according to CD Project, the game is finished on PC, it “runs fine” on consoles next-gen, but the studio has yet to “finalize the process regarding” the current consoles, that is, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A development difficulty on the current gen already mentioned at the beginning of the year, when the game’s release had been postponed from April to September (another era …), and which seems to be confirmed today. CD Project is confident, the title is very solid, and when the players have it in hand, they will understand these multiple postponements.

However, the studio is warning shareholders, the first sales report will obviously be a little worse than expected, because with three weeks less on store shelves, the title will not sell out as quickly as expected, but he still counts on the end of year holiday season to be a hit. It will also be necessary to add budget to the marketing department to adapt the advertisements to this new report.

You would have understood it, CD Project wants to do things right and offer the D-day an irreproachable title. And Cyberpunk 2077 had better be at its release, because with eight months late in the end, the players will be uncompromising.
