Over on the PlayStation blog, producer Naoki Yoshida revealed some additional details about the trio. First, Clive Rosefield is the protagonist of Final Fantasy 16, and Yoshida reveals that the young knight and older man featured in the debut trailer are one and the same: they are both Clive.Elsewhere, the key art for Final Fantasy 16 can be seen right below. It’s quite a stunning piece of art that features the older version of Clive Rosefield.
For the teaser website itself, which went online earlier today, there are new details about the in-game world. This land is called Valisthea, “a land that is blessed by the light of the mother crystals”. There are a total of six kingdoms in this country, and it is the Grand Duchy of Rosaria that Clive, Joshua and Jill are from.
The teaser website also describes a powerful force called “Eikons” in the world of Final Fantasy 16. “The Eikons are the most powerful and deadliest creatures in Valisthea,” the teaser website states. “Everyone lives in a dominant – a single man or woman who is gifted with the ability to exercise their terrible power. In some nations, these dominants are treated as kings to admire this strength – in others they are bound in fear of it. and forced to serve as weapons of war. Those born as dominants cannot escape their fate, however cruel it may be. ”
As expected, the next big announcement around Final Fantasy 16 will take place in 2021. Square Enix staff are currently working on finalizing the game. When it is released it will be a PS5 exclusive console.
