The first Apple Silicon Mac models may have just leaked from...

Apple is slated to launch the big shift to using its own custom chips on Macs in November. Previously, new model numbers of unreleased Macs were leaked in a new report to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

Reported by Consomac, the latest EEC filing for Apple’s computers shows some unreleased Mac number models that we saw for the first time in June last year, as well as entirely new models. The regulatory database is a reliable indicator of Apple products that are about to be launched.

Macs with model numbers A2147, A2158, and A2182 were not released by Apple, but appeared last year as well as in this new file. They were previously listed as running on macOS Catalina and are now running as running on Big Sur.

The new EEC filing also covers unpublished and previously unknown Mac notebook models, including the A2337 and A2338. The list now includes the new A2348, A2438, and A2439 Mac desktops.

Apple Silicon was introduced at WWDC last summer with Developer Transition Kit hardware in the form of a Mac mini that runs on an A12Z processor. Tim Cook also announced at the time that the first Mac that runs on Apple Silicon would be on the market for customers before the end of the year.

Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the first Apple Silicon Macs would be a MacBook Pro and a 24-inch iMac and would hit the market as early as the fourth quarter of this year. Bloomberg confirmed it this month with a report that the first Macs with a custom Apple chip will hit the market in November.

With the new Mac models now showing up in the EEC regulatory database, it is very likely that they will include the first Apple Silicon Mac models, which are expected to hit the market in a few weeks.
