A new ‘Genshin Impact’ Elemental Crucible event goes live with huge...

The first major patch of Genshin Impact may be a month away, but it’s kicking off a new event called Elemental Crucible that players may still be interested in.

Late last night, Genshin Impact announced that this new event will go live soon, although it’s not quite finished as of this morning (8:40 a.m. ET), but I would expect it to be here today or sometime If not, tomorrow when the weekly reset occurs.

Elemental Crucible requires that you work with other players to “shovel elemental clots into the elementary crucible to advance the alchemical process”. What does that mean? I have no idea although I hope this will be matchmaking and not require a super active buddy list or anything like that.

Once you’ve scooped up enough “Elemental Clots” you can consume resin to get bounties that reward character EXP materials and adventure EXP scaling based on your adventure level. There is also an “Alchemy Manual” for the event that rewards things like Primogeme and Ascension Materials.

We don’t know when this starts or how long it will take, but we know what you must have accomplished to qualify for it:

• Reach Adventure Rank 20
• Complete all quests in the Prologue: Act II – For a Morning Without Tears
• Complete Timaeus’ A giant leap in alchemy quest

I think the final piece could be the new quest that starts this event. So look for it soon. You can access the Events page by pressing F5 on the PC. However, you can also find them in your Paimon menu. I will update this article as soon as the event goes live and we know a little more about it.

I already see some players grumbling that this event will turn into another resin sink when there is already so much that we already have to farm so much with resin. Of course, every event is about getting players to ultimately spend money and, in this case, converting Primogems into energy for ultimate farming skills, but we’ll see how to do it. I’m just happy to see something new as I sign up for a couple of domains and my daily quests are really all I’ve cut down to as pretty much everything else on the cards has been deleted, both puzzles and quests.

Stay tuned when this goes live but it seems to be imminent. Save your resin for now as you may want to spend it on Elemental Crucible here soon enough.

To update: One game just announced that this event will begin tomorrow, October 12th at 11 a.m. ET and run through October 19 at 5 p.m. ET
