The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has accepted the appeal submitted by its Egyptian counterpart to the penalties imposed on a number of players in the Egyptian national team.
The Disciplinary Committee of the African Union issued several sanctions against a number of Egyptian players and members of its technical staff, due to an argument with Moroccan players after the two teams match in the African Nations Cup quarter-final, last Sunday.
And the Egyptian Football Association published an official statement today, Thursday, in which it said: “Within the framework of the continuous effort and after extensive efforts and contacts with the Confederation of African Football, the Disciplinary Committee of (C) held a session today, Thursday, to consider the petition submitted by the Egyptian Football Association on the decisions that were taken against Egypt national team after its match against Morocco.
He added, “After the session, it was decided to cancel the two-match suspension imposed against the player Marwan Daoud, and the financial penalty imposed on Carlos Queiroz, coach of the Egyptian national team, was reduced to 50 thousand dollars instead of 100 thousand dollars.”
The Egyptian Federation is scheduled to pay only 25 thousand dollars, while the other 25 thousand have been mortgaged to repeat the incident from the coach.
The Disciplinary Committee decided to keep the penalty of banning Roger de Sa, Queiroz’s assistant, for 4 matches, as it is.
