In the fifth round, the Mali national team qualified for the deciding stage after its 3-0 victory over Rwanda, to enhance its lead in Group E with 13 points, 4 points ahead of its closest opponents, with one round remaining.
Finally, Egypt joined the ranks of the Group F qualifiers, after securing the lead in an exciting 2-2 draw with Angola, to raise its score to 11 points in the lead, 4 points ahead of Gabon.
