Mostafa Mohamed or Falcao? Galatasaray boss Fatih Terim responds

- Yasmine El Tohamy - Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim has heaped praise on new signing Mostafa Mohamed, labelling the Egyptian a ‘special boy’.

Mohamed had only joined Galatasaray in the January transfer window, coming from Zamalek on a one-and-a-half-year loan deal for a fee of $2M.

The Egyptian managed to score on his debut, netting a last-minute goal from the spot in their 3-0 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir.

And less than a week later, Mostafa led his team to a valuable victory over eternal-rivals Fenerbahçe away from home.

Following the game, Fatih Terim had only positives to speak on the former Zamalek striker while revealing his plan for him when Radamel Falcao returns from injury.

“Mostafa Mohamed played with us a game-and-a-half only. He is facing a new language, new training methods, different city, and it’s not easy,” Terim said.

“However, he still coped brilliantly and scored a great goal.

“He is a special boy with a great personality and will help us fill the gap in the team.

“Falcao might force us to play with two strikers, but we will see when he returns back,” Terim added.

The win moved Galatasaray top of the Turkish Super Lig, equal on points with Fenerbahçe.

Mohamed will hope he can replicate this kind of performances when his side host Alanyaspor next Wednesday in the quarter-finals of the Turkish Cup.
